ABOUT

“Be very careful what you need to know.” So warns the unnamed protagonist of David T. Little’s newest operatic creation, Black Lodge. One part haunted house, one part sacred ritual, this new, bold work with a libretto by legendary poet Anne Waldman, blends opera and rock into an alchemical exploration of magic, mystery, regret, and redemption. Great for fans of David Lynch, William S. Burroughs, Nine Inch Nails, Cardiff & Miller, Britten, Stravinsky, and Punk Rock, Black Lodge is an inspired and radical reconsideration of the operatic form by one of America’s most prolific and daring opera composers. Co-directed by Michael McQuilken and Jennifer Newman, it is not to be missed.
